MEETING DATE     APRIL 19, 2006

1. The regular meeting of the Albany-Saratoga Base, USSVI, was called to order at 1900 by CDR. Cook.

2. The muster list for attendance was passed around for all to sign. There were 19 members and 1 guess present.

 3. Due to the base Chaplin not attending, CDR. Cook offered the opening prayer.

  4. The Pledge of Allegiance of the Flag  was recited by all.

  5. The Tolling  of  the Bell was sounded for the Boats and the crew lost during the month of  April.

  6. All WWII veterans were asked to stand and be recognized. Ray Kock stood and was applauded.

  7. CDR. Cook mentioned that the usual routine of all present stand and give their name and the boats that they served on, be forgo due to the time restraint, and ask that only the two new members stand and introduce themselves. Robert Jensen  (IC 3,ss) from Peru, N.Y. and Robert Bailey (MM1,ss) from Green Island, N.Y. All the members gave them both a hearty WELCOME ABOARD.

8. Base secretary reported there was a quorum present.

  9. Treasure's report was given and was accepted by Al Singleman and seconded by Bob Ondek.

10. CDR.Cook reviewed all the complaints and suggestions from the surveys that were returned, concerning the matter of getting new members, and making the meetings more meaningful to assure that we keep our attendance up and not let our present members drop out.

11. Discussion of the up coming parades were mention and they were as follows:

Sunday       May  20        Wilton, N.Y.        ARMED FORCES   SUPPORT YOUR SOLDIER

Wed.            May  24          Saratoga Springs     MEMORIAL DAY

Sat.               June  10         Saratoga  Springs      FLAG DAY

Sunday        Aug.  6          Schuylerville, N.Y.       TURNING POINT PARADE

12. Dress code for all parades will be as follows, as agreed on by all attending members, Blue Golf  Shirt, Tan Pants and Garrison Cap .If you have neither of these items, please see our storekeeper, Diane, she will gladly get you what ever you need. (We agreed that we would look smarter as a marching group dressed the same)

13. The building of our parade float was discussed, Al Singleman suggested  that we take up to $500.00 from the treasury for building supplies. Jim Irwin seconded the motion and all in attendance agreed on the motion.

14.  Bob Ondek updated us on the Memorial plans and enlightened us with a  Power Point presentation that he is working on for  selling in to the powers to be.

  15. The Creed of  USSVI was recited by all and the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.

The next meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. on May 17 @ the American Legion Post 70 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
