U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc. Albany-Saratoga Base

American Legion Post #70,34 West Ave.

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The regular meeting of the Albany-Saratoga Base of USSVI was called to order by
CDR. Cook at 1900
The muster list was passed around for all to sign 16 members present
Base Chaplain, Janet Irwin gave the invocation
Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all
Tolling of the Bells for all Boats and Crew-members lost during the month of August
Base secretary reported quorum present
All WW2 veterans were asked to stand and be recognized. Walt Bydairk and Ray Koch
Treasurer's report was given by our Treasurer, Fred Carlson and accepted by Bob Ondek
and seconded by Al Singleman
Fred also gave us an update on reporting to National Headquarters, pertaining to
membership, addresses and dues
CDR.Cook took a vote on re-establishing all members to stand and give their name and the
boats that they served on. The vote was unanimous and all present stood and gave
their info
Not a very good turnout for the Turning Point Parade in Schylurville, numbers less than
those who said that they would attend
Very bad showing on the number of return votes for the National Elections so far

USSVI Calendars are out soon and Diane Singleman took orders and she will pick them
up at the National Convention
Tom Glenn had a successful outcome on his recent hip surgery and Lou Drapalski has
been in the hospital. We wish them both a speedy recovery.
Al Singleman mention the subject of car pooling to the meetings. Maybe we can get more
members to attend if they could car pool and not be too worried about the cost of their gas.
People interested in car pooling can contact Al or Fred Carlson so that they can set up the
pick-up areas
Bob Ondek showed videos of the making of the newest submarines
Reminder to all that the Sept. Meeting is the time to present the names for your officers
for the up coming year

The meeting was adjourned at 2100 by CDR. Cook

Our next meeting will be Sept. 20 @ the American Legion, West Ave., Saratoga Springs @ 1900

Al will show old sub boat movies (10/15 minutes)
