Minutes from December 2006
The muster list was passed around Twenty-one members and Five guest were
present.
CDR. Cook opened the meeting of the Albany-Saratoga Base of
USSVI, at 1900,he mention that this would be a short meeting,
because of all the great food that is waiting to be eaten.
Invocation was given by Base Chaplin, Janet Irwin, which included a word
about our lastest departed member, Bob Ondek.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.
Tolling of the Boats and the Crew lost for the month of December.
All members stood and introduced themselves and the Boats served on.
WWII veterans, Ray Koch and Walt Bydirk were asked to stand and be
recognized by the group.
Base secretary reported that a quorum was present.
Treasures report was given by Treasurer, Fred Carlson. Accepted by Al
Singleman and seconded by Mike Lynett.
CDR. Cook spoke of events from the year 2006,both good and bad.
Most of all we lost a great motivator, great friend and the chairman
of the Memorial Fund,Bob Ondek.It will be hard to replace Bob as
Chairman but we can because Bob would want us to finish it after
all the work he has put into it.
CDR.Cook introduced the new changing officers for 2007.Al Singleman is to
be the CDR. and Mike Lynett will be secretary.
All other officers will remain intact.
We recited the Creed of USSVI
Meeting was adjourned at 2030 by CDR.Cook
Remember our next meeting will be January 17,@ American Legion, Saratoga
Springs, Starting at 1900.
All members brought in a dish for all to share and an unwrap toy.
CDR.Cook was loaded with three large bags of toys to be donated to
Toys for Tots.(Well done members, for it is the season to share) Lots
of good food and good conversation made the rest of the evening just
fly by.

Pride Runs Deep
I personally would like to wish all our members and their family a
healthy and prosperous New Year. Lets get involved in the Base Unit,
even if it’s attending a meeting. Every little bit can only help us grow
stronger and accomplish what we want to do.
