2008 Minutes
Meeting
called to order at 2005 by Cdr. Singleman.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Invocation
by Chaplain Irwin and the Tolling of the Boats for the month of May.
All members introduced themselves and World War II Veteran Ray Koch was
recognized. Please note that the
meeting commenced at a later time due to the Saratoga Memorial Day Parade in
which the Base participated.
An
abbreviated Treasures report was given by the Base Treasurer Fred Carlson.
Lansenburg’s
Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday (the 26th); participants
should muster at 1030 on the eastside of the
The
Base picnic will be August 2nd at Lanthier’s Grove.
Attendee’s must sign up by the July meeting (July 16th).
Base members may deduct $5.00 off the cost – guests will be the regular
price.
The
D2-D5 meeting will be held at the Best Western in
The
Albany/Saratoga Base meeting in June will be a combined Base and Memorial
Foundation meeting.
October
of 2007 we (area residents) were able to attend the Army/Navy Sprint football
game at

in October we will receive a FORMAL invitation to the Navy Ball so take your
dress blues to the dry cleaners, get out all your miniature medals, your Donald
Duck hat (no flat hats allowed they were taken off the approved list in 1956 for
the 1st and 3rd Naval Districts) and get
yourself

The
Chief Corpsman (HMCM) has reported that COB Tom Glenn had a hip replacement and
was up dancing. Also Will
Asher is all clean and doing
well
and I am personally looking forward to seeing Will and Lois at the
opening
at the new commissary in

TO OUR UP COMING MEETINGS AND HOPEFULLY OUR ATTENDANCE WILL INCREASE.
