Reports
on Standing Committees
George
Gasser gave a quick overview of the Convention.
Many, many positive
comments have been coming in about how enjoyable the Convention was.
A discussion was held as to
whether the Base should refund the registration fees of people who could not or
chose not to attend the convention. The registration form indicated that
registration fees were not refundable. Any fees in addition to the registration
fees have been fully refunded to anyone who did not attend the Convention and
requested a refund. After much discussion it was voted to refund the
registration fee for anyone who requests a refund but not to automatically send
refunds to everyone who did not attend.
Additionally it was
voted on to reimburse the vendors who suffered thefts during the convention.
This amounted to approximately $260.00 for the three vendors involved.
If was noted that the
Saratoga City Center charged us over $700.00 for security at the hospitality
tent when we had previously agreed to provide our own security. Also they
charged us $150.00 to move the Lost Boat Flags from inside the City Center to
the Lobby of the Prime Hotel. We are attempting to get those fees dismissed.
We still have a number
of patches, bags and shirts from the Convention. They will be offered for sale
at meetings and on the base web page.
